NPR Goof?

Take a look at THIS. Is it just me or did NPR make the gross mistake of claiming that Latvia is in the BALKANS and not the BALTICS. Someone goofed... this is pathetic... if even such an intellectual snob institution like NPR can't get it right (I bet they confuse Slovenia and Slovakia too), is there ANY hope for American awareness outside our own borders? Inexcusable...
