FT.com - Transcitizens of the world unite
I've already shared this link elsewhere, but this is a very well-written piece by a UCL/Caltech prof sharing his experiences as a transient wanderer constantly caught in limbo somewhere over the Atlantic. In a post 9/11 world, even such an incontestable asset to the United States finds himself increasingly harassed and attacked by a paranoid populace eager to throw up walls and fences and keep the "other" out. These are sad, sad times we live in, when the rush of immigration and yearning for a better life within these borders begins to flicker and fade against the winds of hate and bias.
