Gourmet Delicacies

We're making WAFFLES!

So on one of my random whims I decided to figure out why the waffle is shaped the way it is (the gridiron pattern, not the circular or square shape). The issue still remains relatively unresolved, but I did find out a fascinating amount about the history of the delicious breakfast/dessert food. Furthermore, I was reminded of the existence of Amsterdam's finest snack. Visit the links below to learn for yourself. I'm sure it will come in handy during some heated game of trivial pursuit.

Interestingly enough, the o-so-heavenly "Belgian" waffle (otherwise known as the Brussels waffle, but made simpler to ID by a savvy businessman that recognized that most Americans don't know where the city is--or didn't back then) has only been on these western Atlantic shores since 1964. The BEATLES have been know here longer!
