BBC NEWS | Americas | Bolivia leader halves his own pay

BBC NEWS | Americas | Bolivia leader halves his own pay: "The Bolivian new left-wing President, Evo Morales, has cut his salary by more than a half to a little over $1,800 per month. The decision means that the salaries of all Bolivian public sector employees will be reviewed, as no official can earn more than the president."

Morales continues to make things interesting in his first days as president. I've got a lot more to comment on on this one and will be keeping a sharp eye on developments. I am perhaps extremely cautiously optimistic on this turn of events...I think Morales may be just a tad too much of a populist to find success, but time shall tell. He reminds me more of Lula than of Chavez or Castro. More to come, at greater depth and hopefully greater insight.
