Philly microbreweries crop up as some of the best in the world, with something like 10 ranking in the top 100 brews.... Victory, Triumph, and a few others, with one down in Delaware winning the honors and taking the local high spot of #9 on the entire list. Glad to see some recognition for people that actually have a clue about brewing beers that are actually drinkable and have a bit of an interesting and pleasant flavor to them. I think I'll remember that lil sip of blueberry beer up in New Paltz forever...
ICE-- a UK trend taking off in the US. If you get in an accident, how does the emergency team know how to contact if you don't have one of those medical bracelets or info in your wallet? Use an ICE prefix (or multiple, ICE-1, ICE-2) etc in your cell. It stands for "in case of emergency"-- use it to take your parent, spouse, sibling.... whoever knows your medical needs, allergies, etc.
Plumpy'Nut: Great story in the Philly Inquirer today about how this vitamin enriched glorified squeezable peanut butter is taking the edge off world famine problems by staving off the sort of malnourishment seen in Africa in the mid 1980s that spurred Live AID. Now famine is still a horrible problem worldwide, but these little 35 cent packets are helping mothers in Africa get their children the key nutrients they need to maintain some semblance of health in the horribly adverse circumstances they face on a neverending daily basis. It worked wonders in Darfur.....
