London | A Sadder Note

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone over there...

UPDATE:
I don't have an active enough readership to attempt coverage, but the best coverage can be found at the following sites:

BBC "Blog"
Wikipedia--surprising but good.
The Antagonist
Europhobia

Out of Europhobia, we have: 14:05 - I tell you what, if this is an "Islamic" terrorist attack, they're doing a piss-poor job. The pubs are all packed out, people sipping their pints happily, all a tad pissed off, but basically fine with it. Nice one, Al Quaeda - you profess to be from a teetotal religion, and you've given the pub trade a massive mid-week boost. Result.

The bloggers at least seem to be handling things well, lots of talk about how everyone is calm and just worried about how to get home and traffic issues. The death/casualty toll has not been officially released, but rumors peg it at about 40 at present.

Here is a link to a pooled album of the event. You can also view it as a slideshow.

My thoughts continue to be with the city, but I'm closing out this entry for now. A string of wonderful, heartwarming events--Live8, the Olympics, and a lot of posiitive energy surrounding the G8--London was all over the news, but now we have this.
