Big Media
You won't here this from me often, but Time magazine has a nice piece on director Richard Linklater, authored by Joel Stein, one of Time Warner's best. The columnist is able to turn the Sisyphus in to an adjective--impressive vocabulary for a big media type, especially to make it through the editors and in to print. Anyway, Linklater did several of my top favorite films, notably Before Sunset, Before Sunrise, andWaking Life. He also directed Slackers, Dazed and Confused, School of Rock, and a few others. Soon to be released: a remake of The Bad News Bears, followed by a Phillip K Dick adaption, A Scanner Darkly. Linklater and Wes Anderson, both Texas people, surprisingly... not that there's anything wrong with that....
