--90s hit "Glycerine" by Bush is particularly amazing live. Not going to link to the iTMS because if you're under 30 and don't know it you've been living in a box, if you're over 30, you're forgiven--they aren't that great a band.
--I feel particularly underdressed wandering around South Kensington on the way to Imperial. I should acquire a pair of good European footwear before I leave.
--The weather is icky and the Tube engineering work is a terribly annoying inconvenience.
--Dinner will be two pb&j sandwiches, one blueberry Nutragrain bar, and a bottle of coke. Hurray. An Apple for dessert when I get back. Also, I'm going to miss all the readily available curries when I leave this city.
--The SWA reached an agreement with the administration that looks like a fair and good one for all. This is excellent, and direct democracy and protest in action now have a precedent at Wash U for the first time in a good 3 decades. Activism trumps apathy any day, even if it's a cause I disagree with. Don't shove it down our throats, but use your passion for change and awareness. Accolades to the SWA!
--The Interpeter was rather well done. While the Afrikaaner security character was way too obvious from the start, the acting was otherwise quite decent. Sean Penn looks like a young Michael Douglas, Nicole Kidman improves with each film, and this did an interesting job of roundabout awareness for the situation in Zimbabwe and many other African nations. More importantly, of course, is Hotel Rwanda, but I'll have to catch that back in the States.
--Life is complex. Captain Obvious, I know. I'll refrain from rambling more on this one.
--I really miss my bike and feel out of shape. I think when I get home the old R600 and I are going to have a nice long 4 hour date that's so intense I won't be able to walk the next day. That would be lovely.
--How do I capitalise on my productivity at work yesterday and employ the same energy towards my paper? That's what I'm going to work on now...
