Technical Art: Digital SLRs

The New York Times: Circuits>: "Until recently... digital camera makers saw every customer as either an amateur or a professional, and offered nothing but sub-$500 models and single-lens reflex cameras (S.L.R.'s ) for $2,000 and up. So when Canon introduced a digital S.L.R. for $1,000 - its Digital Rebel EOS 300D - it hit a sweet spot the size of the Sahara."

More techie details in the full article...

Finally, the digital SLR (single lens reflex) is getting within my price range... I sense a new toy within the next 2-3 years and I'll finally be able to use my Nikon lens for digital pictures and regain all the compositional capabilities, real night mode, flash, and artistic blur that I've been dying without. And the battery life of these things? 600 pictures? insane...

Watch out, the digital Ansel is on his way.
