-One's name is powerful, sacred, and ripe with meaning.
-Natalie Merchant's "San Andreas Fault" is one of the finest elegiac laments of our era. It's just absolutely haunting and cuts you to the core. It's beautiful. It's tragic. Sweet dripping hope cut on the knife of disappointment and the twisting spirals of life.

Excellent description of the song, even if I've never heard of it before. Very poetic.
And expand upon the name piece!
To answer your question, the John book you're going to read I may have heard of, it rings a bell, but nothing more. I also took a quick review of your posts. You are quite the active writer. Thanks, also, for your note on my post about posts. Anyways, I'm off to make breakfast, so here is my true comment: A name can only be powerful if the person allows it to be. By not finding power in the name, power in individuality, power in the family that gave it to you, power in changing it, power in asserting how its pronounced, etc, whatever power there can be is forfeit.
