My Life?

Let's try for a more personal brief update.

The work is coming fast and heavy so this is basically a brief break for destressing purposes.

Last week was Wash U's spring break, and I was able to entertain 3 special visitors--two future suitemates and the (now) girlfriend (!). With all the work stress, it was a bit up and down emotionally, particularly at the start of the week, but once I got that taken care of, it was smooth sailing and happy memories. I was also delightfully surprised by two dear friends from the CSC whom I'd forgotten would be in town showing up after everyone else had left late Sunday.

Key notes from the week:

-German chicken schnitzel in Notting Hill. Possibly best memory of the week. It was the infamous "shopping day" and we spent the morning/early afternoon in Notting Hill and were starving so we grabbed some quality German street vendor grub (preceded by a scrumptious chocolate cake) and it was DELECTABLE. Kept us going until almost 9 when the shops finally closed.
-that was followed by a quiet Thai dinner at a pub I hadn't tried yet near me. Good value, good food, fond memories forever.
-that in turn was followed by tentative footsteps to Fabric. Definitely not my scene and we didn't stay long.
-going back a few days: seeing the Producers with KC. Laughed uproariously the whole time and, after a fashion, we had quite a good view and a box to ourselves, all for 10 quid.
-Walkabout. A bit crazier than originally intended, but really good let it loose fun with the American mates in for the week. Good music, fun dancing, and a few tasty beverages between friends. Capped off by watching a Paul Hogan type character wrestle with a kangaroo-costumed gent.
-Brighton. A day at a Victorian seaside resort with a special lady? Of course it was wonderful!
-Revisiting Greenwich and seeing entirely new sites and just having a relaxed good time.
-Learning that About a Boy was filmed pretty much in my neighborhood (Islington, Finsbury, Angel, Clerkenwell, Farringdon). Very cool.
-Talking to little babies. Gurgling is good. Cooing is better.

Now back to work. Countdown to Easter Break: 2 days. To be done before then-save face and help out more with a group project wherever I can, finishing (excuse me, starting a huge finance project, outlining my thesis for the term, and producing some good corporate work to boot. Somewhere in there have to contact the parents with info for their trip, pack, do laundry, and get a haircut, because I'm truly a shaggy beast at the moment. Sleep would be nice as well.

O well this has put me in a much better mood and dispelled a bit of the black cloud over my head away, so time to be productive and hit the books. One of these days I'll do a nice reverse write up and catch people up on February.

Hey Steve!

Haven't talked to you in a while but from your site it looks like things are going well and that you are very busy! I'm glad it was a great visit. :)

Hope to talk to you sometime soon!

Hey Steve,

Good to hear that you're enjoying yourself lately; I can see some things never change, with you waiting until the last minute to start major projects... hah. One question: what is Fabric? I'm assuming some kind of club? Give my regards to the Brits and their Ministry of Sound, it has given some very nice influences to Singapore and its other colonies (to a lesser extent).
